Based in Kempsey, Australian Solar Timbers, AST, is Australia’s premium specialist manufacturer of Australian hardwood flooring, operating locally for nearly 100 years. Due to continued growth in local sales, new position within Sales and logistics is available.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, this ‘intern-like’ role will focus on developing a broad set of skills to ensure a ‘whole of business’ understanding and presents a strong start to your career. Within your first year, you can expect rapid training in Key Account Management, Sales Support and Logistics along with Dispatch and Warehousing.
Moving between dispatch and the main office, you will be mentored to understand the end-to-end process of Sales and Logistics on a national scale whilst familiarizing yourself with the strong network of AST’s existing accounts.
Eventually you will become responsible for assisting in the coordination of distribution functions to ensure efficient and effective material movement within the warehouse and to customers. Duties will include
- Receipting of stock
- Processing picking slips and customer orders
- Managing all inventory variances and discrepancies
- Managing invoicing and preparation of manifests for local and interstate deliveries
Ideally you will possess
- an eagerness to learn with a strong alignment to AST brand essence of ‘Natural Excellence’.
versatility and capable of adapting quickly to new duties and challenges bringing a positive and “can do” attitude. - Integrity and service-based attitude
- Commercially astute with sound verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Must live locally or within close proximity to Kempsey
- High School and/or Tertiary education preferred but not essential
- Advanced Ms Office skills as well as ERP systems experience will be highly regarded
- Drivers and Forklift license will be highly regarded
