The Eather Recruitment Hastings Sports Awards celebrates the sporting achievements of local people across all sports in International, National, State, Regional and Local competitions. In addition, the Services to Sport Award, recognises the invaluable contribution of volunteers, who make sport in the Hastings region possible every weekend.The Hasting Sports Awards annually enables financial rewards to sporting talent within the community. The 2012 Eather Recruitment Hastings Sports Awards consisted of nine independently judged awards. The judging panel included Sue Reid, Mark Strachan, Matt McLennan and Darren Eather.
A record 70 nominations were received and presented quite a challenge for the judges as every nomination was of a very high quality.
The Awards presentation breakfast also proved to be a great success, selling out two days prior, with a total of 185 people attending. The breakfast was held at Rydges Port Macquarie on Friday 26 October and was hosted by Mike Rabbitt. This year we were also very fortunate to have Gary Cosier, retired Australian cricketer, as guest speaker.
Harvey Norman Computers Port Macquarie supported the nomination process by providing a $500 gift voucher for the nominator draw.
